Two changes have been made to the Temporary Local Rules effective 9th Aug 2018. Preferred Lies – Through the Green – Due to the lack of rain fall and subsequent grass coverage the Golf Committee in consultation with the Course Super have implemented Preferred Lies (Max 30cm) Through the Green – This includes all areas excluding Bunkers, Hazards and the Putting Green Practise Putting Green Relief – Now to be treated as GUR Following feedback from a number of members the Golf Committee have amended the ruling for balls coming to rest on the Practise Putting Green. Relief can now be taken under Rule 25.1 being within one club length of the nearest point of relief not nearer to the hole. Players may still use the synthetic grass area previously used as a drop zone As always please check the Temporary Local Rules displayed on the Notice Board near the 1st Tee and in the Pro Shop before commencing your round of golf. The expected frost has not materialised. Actually quite pleasant this morning, well not finger numbing at least. Tee times should be as posted then. No delays. Enjoy the second and final round of the club Foursomes Championships.
This week has seen a number of frosts at Leonay that risk damage to the course. Andrew Moon has advised that we need to push back start times, starting Saturday 21st, if conditions continue. Frost is expected tomorrow. As such delays to start times are expected.
All golfers We have completed the installation of the new sprinkler heads however as you will have seen the area surrounding the sprinklers is still recovering. This area is noted on the local rules as GUR but more importantly can we please ensure that carts are not driven over the new sprinklers. Appreciate your assistance On behalf of Course Superintendent
When driving carts down the 6th hole can ALL CARTS please be kept to the right hand side (between the 6th and 3rd greens) and not around the back of the 6th green. Additional ‘Carts this Way’ signs have been erected to point you in the right direction. As we head into winter it is important to limit the wear and tear as the ground takes longer to recover so where cart paths have been laid, please use these. Thanks On behalf of Course Superintendent
With the welcome rain over the past few days the fairway are starting to see the benefits with some growth. This has also softened up the fairways and to assist with the growth we ask that ALL CARTS be driven in the rough. This will assist us all in having the fairways recovery as quickly as possible. Thanks On behalf of the Course Superintendent
Just to prove that you can have too much of a good thing. Course closed today due to water
