Due to overnight and current rain the course is closed today with multiple greens unplayable Thanks
Hi All Just returned from Junior Pennants Leonay defeated Stonecutters Ridge 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 Down to the last hole ….very exciting Cheers JAK
Due to the recent rains the following playing conditions will be in place for the 1st Round of the Club Championships • ALL Bunkers will be out of play (treated under GUR Rule 25.1) • Flag placements – There will be no 1,2,3 pin placements. Flags will need to be placed in the high/dry side of the green • Carts – Carts will be permitted but MUST stay in the rough on the high side of the hole and on available cart paths As previously advised there will be preferred lies through the green and payment for all 4 rounds must be made upfront tomorrow. Good luck to all players
Due to the large amount of rain which fell today, the Course Superintendent has deemed no golf carts will be allowed on the course Thursday 27/09/18.
Two changes have been made to the Temporary Local Rules effective 9th Aug 2018. Preferred Lies – Through the Green – Due to the lack of rain fall and subsequent grass coverage the Golf Committee in consultation with the Course Super have implemented Preferred Lies (Max 30cm) Through the Green – This includes all areas excluding Bunkers, Hazards and the Putting Green Practise Putting Green Relief – Now to be treated as GUR Following feedback from a number of members the Golf Committee have amended the ruling for balls coming to rest on the Practise Putting Green. Relief can now be taken under Rule 25.1 being within one club length of the nearest point of relief not nearer to the hole. As always please check the Temporary Local Rules displayed on the Notice Board near the 1st Tee and in the Pro Shop before commencing your round of golf. Regards David Grosse
The expected frost has not materialised. Actually quite pleasant this morning, well not finger numbing at least. Tee times should be as posted then. No delays. Enjoy the second and final round of the club Foursomes Championships.
This week has seen a number of frosts at Leonay that risk damage to the course. Andrew Moon has advised that we need to push back start times, starting Saturday 21st, if conditions continue. Frost is expected tomorrow. As such delays to start times are expected.
All golfers We have completed the installation of the new sprinkler heads however as you will have seen the area surrounding the sprinklers is still recovering. This area is noted on the local rules as GUR but more importantly can we please ensure that carts are not driven over the new sprinklers. Appreciate your assistance On behalf of Course Superintendent
With the current condition of the 12th tee and in preparation for the replacement of this tee, the markers will be moved further up the fairway until the new tee is completed. The Hole will Remain a Par 4. Similarly the 11th tee has been seeded and markers will be in the forward position to give this tee the best opportunity to build some growth. If you could keep to the front of the tee it would be helpful to us all. Thankyou.
The last two weeks have seen our Master Pennants Team struggle in both away games, unfortunately losing both of them. Let’s get out there this Sunday and support the boys in their final home game against a strong Lynwood side.
